For as long as any Kindred can remember, Fairbanks has long been under control of the Invictus, primarily dominated by an elder Ventrue by the name of Dragalescu. Although his quirks as a Ventrue became more and more apparent over the years, he held onto the city with unshakeable conviction through a Carthian revolt and the outside meddling of the Circle of the Crone. But with time comes change.

Slowly, Kindred starting filtering into the city after the mass expulsion following the Carthian Revolt. It was slow at first, and most of them found an easy home as fellow covenant-mates to the Invictus, but other less desirables began to stake a claim in the frozen north. Perhaps it was Dragalescu's age and infirmity or the call of a long deserved torpor that blinded him to the danger approaching... Or maybe, the Gangrel known as Redson simply got lucky.

The Prince is dead! Long live Prince Redson. Gathering the rest of the Invictus to his side, Redson ruled over a city in flux, a city populated with creatures like the Belial's Brood and the strange Shadow King. As usual, the Ordo Dracul and Circle of the Crone kept to themselves. The miniscule presence of the Lancea Sanctum allowed the Invictus to continue to thrive unrivaled for all but a growing Carthian group. Eventually, the Rebels gained enough power to press the Prince for a Senate made up of elected representatives from each covenant.

All seemed well for a time, but the strain of praxis on Redson's soul was visible to all. Infighting within the First Estate began to affect the politics of the city, until it erupted in outright violence inside the covenant. During this chaotic time, several Kindred fell to foul play and perhaps most oddly of all... Praxis was willingly handed over to the Senate by the Prince. But the fledgling council eventually dwindled and failed in the summer of 2006, leaving the city wide open to all manner of predators.

During that summer, a malificent force claiming to be Lancea Sanctum seized many Kindred assets and resources... as well as Praxis. But after several months, the Brood's deception was uncovered by local Kindred and they were forced to retreat. Boya Trance, now Greggor MicCullen, seized praxis but maintained a shakey rulership for less than a year. Acolytes began disappearing; with his support base vanishing, MicCullen went into hiding. The Invictus Ventrue Vasili Romanov took praxis, but was unable to mend the fractured city. In a bloodless coupe, a new Carthian by the name of Kevin Vaughn took the throne and made a firm stand in favor of the Traditions.

But turmoil fomented within the ranks of the Carthians, eventually leading Vaughn to relinquish Praxis. In a predictable pendulum swing, the Invictus seized control. It seemed as if they had an iron hold on the inner council, but then the mysterious and tragic events of June 8th interrupted the personal Requiem of every Kindred on earth. When the dust had settled few Kindred remained. With the Invictus resources devastated in the attack against the city, the Carthians once again laid claim to the Princeship, but the Invictus lead by Sir Armstess would not allow a peaceful reign. The Ordo Dracul, so carefully neutral in the past, finally tired of the Carthian/Invictus feud and negotiated Praxis in October of 2009, but Armstess declared war on the dragons by attempting to seize praxis yet again. He was mysteriously destroyed by hunters and the Ordo Dracul maintains Praxis.
