Description of Venue

I can't hide the monster anymore
One can only feel desolate for so long
Until one starts to change
Into something the mirror doesn't recognize
I metamorphasize
The darkness has been biding its time
To claim its latest victim
Fresh meat for carnal desires
To become what I became
I viewed the sun for the last time
Atreyu ~ The Crimson

The power structure for the city of Fairbanks has gone through dramatic changes in the last year alone. The power of the city, the Prince, has changed hands half a dozen times or more leading most Kindred to see the Prince as nothing more than a temporary position and will change before they get used to it. But now, after a brief Cathian reign, The Ordo Dracul are now in charge. But the power struggle has not been their only concern. The constant threat of the Stryx, the appearance and disappearance of the Malkavian virus, and what of the hunters? The foes of the Kindred are still moving within its veins ready to strike at the moment they see a weakness, and there are more to come. What will the reign of the Dagon's bring? Will the city of Fairbanks finally band behind its new leadership and face the horrors of the night? What is moving below the city toward the Kindred? Will their beast get the better of them and continue to fracture their society?

More information, such as list of Kindred and rumors can be found at the Fairbanks, Alaska page.

Storytelling Mechanics

* Feeding: Our Requiem game will be using a standard draw for being Blood pools for the evening. Base draw will be Herd + Haven "Location" + d10. Anyone seeking additional Blood will be asked to run a feed scene with an AVST (or ST if none are present) at the beginning of game.

* Approvals: Any player with items on their sheet (Bloodlines, Devotions, Merits, etc.) that require approval numbers must have them on their character sheet and with them at all times. Also, the player must have a write up on the mechanics of the approval with them as well.

* Experience awarded: New XP guidelines for each game. XP awards will typically range in the 3XP to 4XP range per night but will not exceed 5XP for any one evening or 8XP per month as per the Addendum.
* 1xp will be awarded automatically for signing in before at the beginning of the night and spend a vast majority of their time out of the Reality Room and in play.
* 1XP will be awarded to players who attend Post-Mortem at the end of the evening.
* 1XP to 2XP can be awarded to players who wear costumes are garb for their characters. (1XP for showing up in garb relative to the character, while an addition XP can be awarded for superior or elaborate costumes)
* 1XP can be awarded to players nominated for superior role-playing.
* 1XP can be awarded to players for their actions that further the storyline or plot in a superior fashion.
* Experience points can be removed for excessive distracting, disruptive or inappropriate conduct on game site.

* Downtime actions and experience spending: Downtimes need to be sent to frozensun.requiem@gmail.com no later than 11:59pm on the Friday before game. Any downtime received after that by e-mail or at game will not take effect until the following game. Players listed in our venue may submit 2 separate downtimes per month (once per game) with the number of actions equal to the characters Resolve as per the standard rules.

* Proxy: Due to a small storytelling staff, proxied characters will have a reduced or non-existent role in games. Scenes may be conducted over IRC if direct player-to-player interaction is desired. Please refer to the Camarilla Universal Addendum for additional information on proxies. Please give at least 72 hours notice before the Proxy to allow communication between the ST staff and the player.

* Visiting Character Guidelines: If you plan to physically visit our domain, we would love to have you! Please email the ST staff and we will do our best to get you crash space and other accommodations.

* IRC: We are currently working on establishing an in-game IRC channel for Frozen Sun. You will still need to follow the regular proxy rules to play in it.

* Travel Risks: AAlaska is, indeed, the last frontier. It is huge, and the seasons teeter from one extreme to the other. The Fairbanks North Star Borough (which is approximately the size of Connecticut) is located in Interior Alaska, which is rather spread out and in most places, untamed. A vampire getting here safely should require careful planning.

* A Word on the Climate: Due to the sub-Arctic location of Fairbanks, much of the summer is spent with near 24-hour daylight. Duration is from approximately mid-June to mid-August, during which time vampiric activity is severely limited. game during that time will be played to represent the passage to two nights instead of one to pass on the feeling of limited time between sundown and sunup. Winter games will be played as normal.
